NIC WOMEN's BASKETBALL: Cardinals rally over CCS

SPOKANE - Monica Landdeck finished with 19 points and four rebounds to lead North Idaho College to a 62-53 win over Community Colleges of Spokane on Monday night.

Down 28-26 at halftime, North Idaho outscored the Bigfoot (11-5) 36-25 in the second half. Kara Staggs added 17 points and four rebounds for the Cardinals (14-5), who travel south to face Salt Lake Community College on Thursday.

"We've been very dinged up, but we responded well in the second half," NIC coach Chris Carlson said. "Spokane came at us, gave us a great run but we hung in there and got the win tonight."

CCS shot 45.8 percent from the field in the first half, but fell to 24 percent after halftime, while NIC improved from 32 percent to 43.8 percent in the second half.
