Sharon Blehm, 77
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 10 years, 3 months AGO
Sharon Blehm, 77, went home on Jan. 1, 2015, and received the gift of eternal life while surrounded by her family. All praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for his indescribable gift and grace.
Sharon was born in Portland, Ore., on July 6, 1937, and raised by her adoptive parents Jim and Kathryn Hill. After her parents divorced, Sharon was raised by her adoptive grandmother Minnie McCloud Johnson in Seattle, Wash., and then in Los Angeles, Calif.
Sharon lived a life of love centered in her husband of 59 years, Arden Blehm. It was love at first sight when they met for the first time. After a six-month courtship, they married on Nov. 11, 1955.
Sharon was a homemaker, and her love of her children was her joy. Sharon raised her family in Whittier, Calif., and then Pico Rivera, Calif. In October 2000 she moved with her husband to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, to be near her children.
Sharon leaves a legacy of love and kindness shown to everyone she came to know. She was a humble and compassionate person always putting the needs of others ahead of her own. Although her family grieves for her, they are comforted by knowing where their wife and mother has gone. "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him." (1 Cor 2:9) Her family knows she is now a witness and recipient of this amazing promise of the Lord.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Arden; her four children: Russell, Shelley, Arden Jr. and Cheryl; her sister, Susan Barnes; along with 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for Sharon will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene. Burial to follow at Coeur d'Alene Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Hospice of North Idaho for the kindness and care shown to Sharon during her last days.
