TFalls boys off and running in 2015

SUPERIOR – The Thompson Falls Bluehawks went on the road to battle the Superior Bobcats last Saturday.

The Bluehawks won a close one 30-23 thanks to some clutch three-point shooting.

Juniors Tanner Laws and Corey Tessier hit shots from beyond the arc in the second half to seal the victory for Thompson Falls.

Laws led the Bluehawks in scoring with 13 points during the away game.

It was the Bobcats who jumped out to an early lead following the start of the game taking an 8-5 lead into the second quarter.

The Bluehawks responded in the second quarter putting up nine points to send the game into half time all squared at 14-14.

Thompson Falls carried their momentum into the second half, outscoring Superior 12-4 in the third quarter to make the score 26-18.

The win moves Thompson Falls to 4-2 on the season.

Last Saturday’s win wrapped up a successful week for the Bluehawks who also defeated the Troy Trojans last Friday.

Thompson Falls downed Troy 59-19 for a big home victory.

Junior Trais Hoisington and Tessier led the Bluehawks’ attack with both players reaching double digits.

Hoisington put up 28 points on the night, while Tessier added 11.

The Bluehawks jumped out to a 15-6 lead over Troy after one quarter of play.

Thompson Falls built on the early lead to take a 38-9 advantage into halftime.

The Bluehawks didn’t let up in the second half outscoring Troy 21-10 to give the home team the 40-point victory.

Up next for Thompson Falls will be a home game against Plains on Thursday, Jan. 8.
