Cornelius A. Fiorucci, 85

Cornelius "Tony" A. Fiorucci, 85, passed away at the Hospice of North Idaho Hospice House in Coeur d'Alene, on Jan. 6, 2015.

Tony was born in Rochester, N.Y., on June 18, 1929, to Emilio and Josephine Fiorucci. Tony was one of five children, and spent his childhood in Rochester. He worked for Kodak before moving to Arizona, where he completed his GED and went on to get his hairdressing license. Eventually he moved back to New York where he opened a beauty shop at his home, and raised his three children: Tom, Nancy, and Daniel.

He moved to California in the late '70s, where he met Dorothy. The two married on Feb. 25, 1980, in Woodland Hills, Calif. He and Dorothy spent time in California, Idaho and Arizona, before settling down in North Idaho in 2002 where they have lived ever since.

Tony worked as a hairdresser his entire adult life. He loved to play golf, and was an avid bowler. He also enjoyed making stained glass, and was an all-around handyman.

Tony was preceded in death by his son Daniel; daughter Debbie; his parents; and four siblings. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dorothy; three children, 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

At his request, no services will be held as Tony preferred to be remembered in life rather than in death.
