NIC BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Cold-shooting Cardinal men fall to Salt Lake
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 10 years AGO
TAYLORSVILLE, Utah - North Idaho College shot just 34.4 percent from the field, losing 71-62 to the 15th-ranked Salt Lake Community College Bruins in Scenic West Athletic Conference play on Thursday.
"The biggest thing is we had a really poor shooting night," NIC coach Corey Symons said. "We shot 5 of 22 from the 3-point line. A lot of those were wide-open shots and we missed probably a half-dozen lay-ins. We couldn't find a way to score."
Djuan Piper scored 12 points and Austin Pope added 11 points for North Idaho (15-3, 2-2 SWAC).
DeSean Parsons scored 20 points for the Bruins (16-2, 4-0), who is tied with Southern Idaho for first place in the conference.
NIC travels to Snow College in Ephraim, Utah, on Saturday.
