PREP GIRLS BASKETBALL: Kirby guides top-ranked Timberlake past Bonners

BONNERS FERRY - Allison Kirby scored 24 points for the Timberlake Tigers in a 65-36 victory over the Bonners Ferry Badgers in an Intermountain League game on Friday.

Payten Rhodes scored 15 points for Timberlake (12-2, 2-0 IML), which is the top-ranked 3A team in this week's state media poll.

"We played well on the defensive side," Timberlake coach Matt Miller said. "Our pressure overall created a lot of havoc and points for us. I was really happy with our defensive effort. They had good scoring balance, but nobody really got going."

"This was only our second game when we've been really healthy," Miller said.
