Animal Allies of Idaho has fixed more than 500 cats and dogs since opening its low-fee spay and neuter clinic less than one year ago. The nonprofit invites the public to celebrate the achievement at the clinic's first birthday party on Saturday, Jan. 31.

"At the average rate of cat and dog reproduction, 500 spays and neuters equates to preventing 5,000 future homeless pets in one year" declared Ronnee McGee, AAID president and volunteer executive director. "We are very proud of our growing reputation for high quality and low fees. With the support of the community and donors near and far, Animal Allies is making a significant difference for pets, pet parents and the community."

AAID's open house birthday party will be Saturday, Jan. 31 from 1-4 p.m. at the clinic at 5920 Government Way, No. 4 in Coeur d'Alene. Pet microchipping will be done at the party for $20, which also enters the pet parent in raffles for dining and shopping gift certificates, or anyone can buy a raffle ticket for $5. There will be cupcakes and prizes for all attendees.

AAID is a 501(c)(3) public charity nonprofit with the mission of "sustaining a healthy pet population." Its only income is from service fees, grants and donations. For complete information, visit AnimalAlliesID.org or call the clinic at 719-0223.
