SANDPOINT — A pair of Schweitzer Mountain Resort visitors narrowly escaped a dangerous rollover crash on Monday afternoon.

A Subaru Outback went off the side of Schweitzer Mountain Road and wound up balancing precariously on its passenger side. Had its resting angle been a few degrees greater, Schweitzer Fire/Rescue District Chief Spencer Newton said the vehicle would have rolled.

“It would have rolled at least three or four times before coming to a stop,” said Newton.
