SPIRIT LAKE - Dillon Grafton (138 pounds), Bailey Houston (145) and Caleb Munson (160) came up with pins down the stretch for the Timberlake Tigers in a come-from-behind 47-39 win over the Priest River Spartans in the War of the Waters match on Thursday.

The Intermountain League match is also a segment of the Battle for the Buck spirit competition, with the basketball games between the two schools scheduled for Saturday at Timberlake High.

"It was packed, everyone was screaming and it was loud," Timberlake coach Kelly Amos said. "We had three pins and a technical fall in the last four matches to win it. It was cool to come roaring back like that."

Tyler Badertscher won by technical fall for Timberlake (2-0 IML), which competes in the inaugural Van Tuinstra Memorial Classic today and Saturday at Lakeland High in Rathdrum.

Lake City pins down wins at Frenchtown

FRENCHTOWN, Mont. - Chase Lathim won both of his matches by pin at 120 pounds for the Timberwolves at Frenchtown High in a tuneup for the Rocky Mountain Classic, which runs today and Saturday at Sentinel High in Missoula.

Lake City opened the night by beating Belgrade 54-18, with Killian Konda (152), Mike Kelley (103), Nathan Lambert (132) and Skylar Neils (138) earning pins in the win.

In Lake City's second dual of the night, Timberwolves Kieron Ove (103), Lathim, Cory Wells (132), Andrew Olvera (145), Griffin Schoch (152), Corey Cook (170) and Zion Dixon (285) earned pins against a collection of wrestlers from Frenchtown, Whitefish and Belgrade.
