SANDPOINT — The Bonner County Planning & Zoning Commission recommended approval of a rezone and comprehensive plan amendment that will bring permanency to a temporary asphalt plant in Sagle.

The recommendation cleared the panel on a 3-1 vote and against the wishes of nearby landowners who contend it will drag down property values and degrade their neighborhood’s rural ambiance with noise and odors.

The recommendation goes to the county commission for final approval. A hearing date is pending.
