July 14, 1953 - Jan. 16, 2015

We lost an amazing man on earth but heaven gained an amazing angel.

He was such an honest, loving and genuine man. His hugs were so heartfelt; his handshake ... his word. He left behind the love of his life. He met Sandy when he was just 12 years old. They've been together ever since. They truly were an inspiration to true love, devotion and friendship. They lived with one heart. He showed everyone he came into contact with respect and kindness. He was a beloved husband, father, an amazing grandfather and a friend to all who knew him. He was always complimentary and so proud of his family. He reminded us frequently what was important in life ... love, fun and happiness. He was able to laugh even when life was hard. We will remember his stories, smile and laugh forever.

He was preceded in death by his mom, Violet Piziurny; sister Lynn Bradley; and father Phil Becker.

Please keep his family in your prayers - his wife of 45 years, Sandy; his daughters Debbie Haug, Sherrie Harwood and Sandy Hayman; sons-in-law Scot Haug, Travis Harwood and Dean Hayman; grandchildren Tyler (Brittany) Haug, Cameron Haug, Kayla Thomson, Brandon Thomson, Kennedy Harwood, Payton Harwood, Gage Benefield and Chase Benefield; great-grandchildren Leighton Thomson, Kaidance Mcgwier, and soon-to-be Lillianna Haug; sisters Kathy Whitaker and Bonnie Blackburn; brothers Ron Novotny and Craig Hegel; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family.

He is going to be dearly, dearly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at English Funeral Chapel, 1700 N. Spokane St., Post Falls. Graveside service to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
