Longtime Columbia Falls soccer coach Peter Browne has resigned. Browne began his coaching career here in 2000 as an assistant under Brian Hull. He led the Wildcat program to state championships as a head coach in 2001, 2003 and 2005.

The team came in second in 2004 and made it to the semifinal rounds in 2006 and 2007.

In more recent years, however, the program has had a tough time finding success. Last season the team went 2-10.

“It’s just time for a new direction in the program,” Browne said. “The kids have been great over the years.”

A search is underway to find his replacement.
