BILLINGS — A man sentenced to 22 consecutive life sentences last year for raping three women and attempting to rape a fourth is appealing his case.

Toby Eugene Griego was convicted of 27 felony counts last April. Three of the women reported being bound and gagged and threatened with various weapons.

Griego’s attorney has until Feb. 11 to file an opening brief in the appeal process. Griego can appeal issues relating to his sentence and jury conviction.
