PLAY IN A DAY: Thanks to all supporters

Christian Youth Theater-North Idaho would like to thank those in the community who participated, volunteered or donated to their 6th Annual Play in a Day fundraiser on Dec. 29 and 30. A total of 136 local kids along with 25+ adult volunteers literally put together "Jack and the Beanstalk" in 24 hours! On Dec. 30, after a final dress rehearsal, everyone enjoyed a quick bite to eat donated by local restaurants, and then performed for supporters and the curious who couldn't believe it could be done.

A portion of the profit from ticket sales went towards scholarships which provide tuition for kids who wish to take CYT-North Idaho's theater arts classes. The remainder goes directly back into the non-profit educational program. CYT-NI would like to specially acknowledge the following businesses for their donations: Build-a-Bear Workshop, Coeur d'Alene Chocolates, Sherwin-Williams Paint, Del Taco, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts - Spokane Valley, Little Caesar's Pizza - Coeur d'Alene, Nate's New York Pizza - Post Falls, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts - Spokane Valley, Little Caesar's Pizza - Coeur d'Alene, Nate's New York Pizza - Post Falls, Pizza Hut - Coeur d'Alene, Pizza Hut - Hayden, Pizza Factory - Coeur d'Alene and Super 1 Foods - Coeur d'Alene. They would also like to thank the S.A. Kroc Community Center for their continued support and they look forward to returning next year to experience the miracles that can happen when 150+ people come together to have fun and entertain their community.

Thanks!

BOOK DRIVE: Effort very successful

Our community's holiday book drive for children's books, called Jingle Books, provided every K-3 child in the Coeur d'Alene School District (approximately 3,300 kids) with three reading books of their own choosing before Christmas, with an additional 500 such books gifted to each of our 10 elementary schools. This effort was about kids, community, and literacy, and it was, by all accounts, very successful.

Thanks to everyone who contributed, especially the following: Goodwill Industries, Steve and Marie Widmyer, Idaho Youth Ranch, Margaret Reed Foundation, St. Vinny's, Sheila Gary, Richard Gmeiner, Ronald Cole, Erna Rhinehart, Gwen Letson, Kay Thompson, Joan Word, Michael Gridley, Learning Life Company, Steven Roberge, Alva Allen, NF Lewis, Lake City High School Student Council, Woodland Mentors, Norm and Deanna Gissel, Lakes' Leadership, Coeur d'Alene High School Key Club, Coeur d'Alene Kiwanis, Panhandle Kiwanis, Morgan-Stanley and Hospice of North Idaho.

The District 271 Admin Team, all our building principals, custodians, and more.

Thanks for helping our kids,

GRETA GISSEL and DAVE EUBANKS
