PONDERAY — A Ponderay man was arrested Monday after a search of his residence turned up nearly 9 pounds of marijuana.

Dwayne Curtis Washburn is charged with trafficking and delivery of a controlled substance. He’s further charged with being a persistent violator due to two previous felony convictions in other jurisdictions.

Washburn, 41, made an initial appearance in Bonner County Magistrate Court on Tuesday. Judge Lori Meulenberg sustained Washburn’s $60,000 bail and appointed a public defender to represent him, court records show.

Officers from Ponderay and Sandpoint, in addition to sheriff’s deputies, executed warrant to search Washburn’s home in the 200 block of Birch Avenue on Monday afternoon.
