NIC WRESTLING: Cardinals romp on sophomore night

COEUR d'ALENE - Sophomore Tyler McLean started the night with a pin for the second-ranked North Idaho College wrestling team in a 39-6 win over Simon Fraser of the NAIA on Wednesday at Christianson Gym.

"Tyler looked really strong and ended his last regular season match at home with a big pin," NIC coach Pat Whitcomb said. "It was a good way for him to go out there."

NIC will face Western Wyoming on Friday, then take on Neosho Community College and Northwest College in Powell, Wyo., on Saturday. The dual against 11th ranked Northwest is the second part of the 'Battle for the Moose Cup," with the Trappers needing to beat NIC by 15 points to retain the Moose.
