The Lake City Harmonizers, the local chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, is beginning its 34th year with a new director and new officers. Jon Kolp, director, comes to us from many years with the Pages of Harmony in Spokane and Bob Thackston, president, helped start the chapter in 1981. Completing the board are Joe Lykins, music vice-president; Norris Boothe, secretary; Tom Rakes, treasurer; and Logan Shevalier, member-at-large.

After singing as carolers at The Coeur d'Alene Resort in December, the chorus is now preparing quartets for delivering singing valentines throughout the community, including the Silver Valley. The group is also ready to again open some North Idaho College basketball games with the national anthem.

The chorus is auditioning men who have the ability and desire to sing four-part harmony, and invites them to attend the group's practices on Mondays at 7 p.m. at Heart of the City church, Lincoln Way at Emma Avenue, Coeur d'Alene.
