POLSON (AP) — Police in Polson are investigating the theft of an automated teller machine from a bank on U.S. 93.
Assistant Police Chief John Stevens said that an alarm was activated at Community Bank at 6 a.m. Friday. Responding officers found the ATM from the front entrance was missing.
Stevens would not say how much money was in the ATM, other than to say it was a rather large amount.
Officers received a tip soon after that led them to a location north of Polson where much of the ATM, minus the money, was found.
Video surveillance at the bank shows two men were involved. Officers say they may be traveling in a green Chevrolet Z71 pickup.
Anyone with information is asked to call Lake County Crimestoppers at 1-406-883-7309.
