COURT: What about morality?
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 9 years, 6 months AGO
President Obama stated, “Justice has struck like a thunder bolt.” He went on to say we have taken another step toward equality. The Supreme Court has now made it legal for all 50 states to treat same-sex marriages with integrity.
I listened to several liberal commentators give their opinions on this historic day in America. They used the terms historic, justice, equality and integrity numerous times. Not once did I hear the word morality — or more appropriately immorality.
I guess using the word historic is appropriate just like past happenings in the world both for good and evil. However, I find it difficult to understand how justice, integrity and equality can apply to an immoral decision they claim has the support of the United States Constitution. Perhaps we should take a look at the definitions of these three words found in Webster’s Dictionary.
Justice: The quality of being just; righteousness or moral rightness; rightfulness or lawfulness; justness on the grounds of reason; the quality of being true or correct; the moral principle determining just conduct. (If you noticed he did not use the work ‘legal’ in his definitions for the word justice.)
Integrity: Uncompromising adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character, honesty. (Again, he did not use the word ‘legal’ in defining the word integrity.)
Equality: The state of equality or being equal.
Either we determine our own truth or we believe in absolute equality. In either case, we will have chaos. In fact, we are already moving very rapidly toward out of control chaos. Perhaps we should revert back to Webster’s definition of justice where he uses the terms of truth and reason. We are not only experiencing corruption and chaos which is the result of rejecting God’s Word, the Bible, but also in twisting and taking out of context Webster’s definitions. Don’t you think it is time we get back to embracing and living the truth?
One homosexual activist said, “Finally I am free!” A decision by five members of the Supreme Court can never guarantee freedom of conscience. “The Truth will set you free.”
The Creator of sex and marriage speaks the Truth. Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth. and the Life.”
