Commissioners' resolution declares Stage 1 Fire Restrictions in Sanders County

SANDERS COUNTY – The Sanders County Board of Commissioners voted on Wednesday, July 1, to enact Stage 1 fire restrictions in Sanders County as of 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, July 2.

The commissioner’s resolution declaring the Stage 1 fire restrictions prohibited the ignition of any open fire in Sanders County, unless it was within the guidelines of the Stage 1 Restriction Procedures.  

Additional restrictions imposed by the resolution included the prohibition of the ignition of all fireworks in Sanders County outside of the incorporated cities within the county.

Smoking is also prohibited, except within an enclosed vehicle or building, a developed recreation site or while stopped in an area at least three feet in diameter that is barren or cleared of all flammable materials.
