Whitefish seventh-grader Turner Haugen won the annual Glacier National Park park pass artwork contest.

Haugen’s image of the Going-to-the-Sun Road and wildlife will be on the 2016 Glacier National Park Annual Park Pass. This pass will be available in January 2016 and approximately 14,000 passes will be issued during the year.

Haugen is a student with the Stumptown Art Studio in Whitefish.

The art contest was open to students in grades 6-12. This year’s entries were judged on the use of color, design, and accuracy of a scene that displays the majesty of Glacier National Park in celebration of the National Park Service Centennial.

The winning artwork will be available to view on the park’s website, www.nps.gov/glac by clicking on the “Kids & Youth” section.

The Glacier National Park Conservancy is an official partner of Glacier National Park. The Conservancy’s goal is to generate financial support for the park through private fundraising and philanthropic activities, and operation of the bookstores within Glacier National Park.
