SANDPOINT - Arraignments were postponed Monday for a former couple accused of lewd conduct and possession of child pornography.
Defense counsel for Adam Michael Pugh requested a continuance and appointment of new counsel is pending in the case of Kathryn Leanne Howard, court records indicate.
Pugh's arraignment is set for Aug. 3 in 1st District Court. He is free on $100,000 bail while the case is pending. He is charged with one count of lewd conduct with a minor and seven counts of possessing sexually exploitive material.
Howard, 34, is charged with one count of lewd conduct and five counts of possessing sexually exploitive material. She is free on her own recognizance.
Pugh, 33, was charged in May with engaging in a sexual relationship with a girl from 2009 to 2013, when she was between the ages of 12 and 16 years old. His alleged misconduct began with voyeurism and progressed to fondling and ultimately intercourse, according to court documents.
The investigation of Pugh led to the discovery of images of he and his former wife, Howard, engaged in sex acts with the teen in the original lewd conduct case.
Both Pugh and Howard waived their right to preliminary hearings in Bonner County Magistrate Court.
