A training session for the Two Bear Kids Marathon Program will be held at Pinewood Park in Columbia Falls on July 15 from 6-7 p.m.

The focus of the session is for children to enjoy group running and coach-led activities that emphasize proper running technique while having fun. Youth ages 5 to 12 are welcome and also encouraged to register in the Kids Marathon Program, though registration is not required to attend the training session. Bring a water bottle and comfortable clothing. Call Richard Menicke at 871-3375 with questions.

The Kids Marathon is a program where area youth can run a full marathon "one stride at a time" by accumulating miles over the summer towards logging a total of 26.2 miles by September. A final mile to celebrate children's marathon accomplishment will be held in conjunction with the larger Two Bear Marathon event on Sept. 19 at The Wave in Whitefish. The Kids Marathon Program is sponsored by The Wave. More information, including Program registration and training logs, is available on the program web pages.
