Dave Graybill: The Fishin' Magician

The warm weather has been a benefit to the fishing for sockeye and kings at the Brewster Pool this season.
Thousands of Chinook and sockeye will not enter the extremely warm Okanogan River. Fishing here has been tremendous. Many anglers are anticipating a super season for sockeye at Lake Wenatchee, but the same "thermal barrier" that is keeping sockeye from going up the Okanogan is also keeping most sockeye from entering the warm Wenatchee River.
The counts at Tumwater Dam have dropped to hundreds a day instead of the thousands that should be passing through here to the lake. Hopefully some cooler weather will get here in time to move these fish up the river and onto Lake Wenatchee for the opener on the 18th of July.
If you have kids under the age of 15 and want to introduce them to trout fishing, plan to come to Blackbird Island in Leavenworth on Saturday, July 11th.

I had a great experience the other day. I had stopped by Hooked on Toys in Wenatchee and ran into someone that I knew from Lake Chelan.
