Legion baseball: Glacier Twins win Sapa-Johnsrud tourney

WHITEFISH — Colten Parker went 3 for 3, scored three times and drove in a run while AJ Wetsch went the distance on the mound to carry the Glacier Twins A to a 9-1 victory over the Spokane Cannons in the championship game of the Sapa-Johnsrud Memorial Tournament on Sunday at Memorial Field.
The Twins (33-10) went 5-0 in American Legion baseball tournament play.
Jayce Fagerland had two hits and scored twice for the Twins. Kyler Howke had two RBI.
Wetsch allowed three singles. He fanned one batter and walked one.
Glacier scored in every inning but the third. The Twins tallied three runs in the first and fourth innings, scored twice in the second and once in the fifth.
Glacier had 10 hits by seven different players.
Glacier, winners of six straight, play a doubleheader at the Bitterroot Red Sox on Tuesday starting at 1 p.m.
Glacier has seven games left on the schedule before the district tournament in Polson, which begins July 23. Kalispell hosts the state tournament, starting July 30.
