Bonnie J. Brown, 92, resident of Post Falls, Idaho, died peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2015, at the Hospice of North Idaho Hospice House in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
Bonnie was born on June 12, 1923, in Kellogg, Idaho, to Dennis Bryon Brown and Alice Emily Edgecomb Brown. She graduated from Kellogg High School in 1941 and attended the University of Idaho where she earned a bachelor's degree in food and nutrition, and a master's degree in home economics education. She was a registered dietitian, completing her dietetic internship at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, Ore.
Her professional career included teaching home economics and nutrition in hospitals and high schools in Idaho and Washington before joining the WSU faculty. She was a County Extension Agent in Chehalis, Wash., until her retirement in 1990.
Bonnie is survived by her sister, Joan M. Irons of Boise, Idaho; and her four children: Mary Lynn (Brower) Bates of Coeur d'Alene, Elizabeth Jean (Brower) Moore of Hauser, Idaho, Dennis Eugene Brower of Rathdrum, Idaho, and John William Brower of Houston, Texas; as well as 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A private family service and memorial will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015, in Coeur d'Alene.
The family has asked that any donations be made to Hospice of North Idaho, 9493 N. Government Way, Hayden, ID 83835.
