Lynnette 'Lynn' Lee (Sverdsten) McCollum, 58

Lynnette "Lynn" Lee (Sverdsten) McCollum, was born Feb. 26, 1957, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and passed away on July 14, 2015, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 58. She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Marlyce Sverdsten.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Robert S. McCollum; stepsons Stephen and wife Alison, Marcus and Tim Ott and wife Wendy; sister Marcy Hasz and husband Fred and their daughter, Josalun; grandchildren Matthew, Charlotte, Olivia, Lena, Annaleise, Charlie Finn, Lana Jane and Josie Mae; and many extended family members.
Lynn was part of the Army's Installation Management Command (IMCOM) as the Director of Family Programs (Army Community Services) for the past seven years of her 18-year career with the U.S. Army. Prior to joining civil service, Lynn was a licensed professional social worker, who worked as a emergency services Mental Health Professional for the County of Spokane, Wash.
She spent several years in Europe as a civilian working for the U.S. Army. She and her husband traveled extensively and did much shopping, eating and enjoying the European lifestyle. Lynn loved to shop, working in her yard and going to the movies, and she was a great Spurs fan with Tony Parker being her favorite player.
Lynn was a very caring and loving wife and always available to the people around her, being compassionate, empathetic and very grounded when encountering her staff and loved ones.
A visitation will be held from 2-2:45 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Yates Funeral Home Chapel, Coeur d'Alene, with the funeral service beginning at 3 p.m. All services will conclude in the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
