School board seeks applicants to fill vacancy

The Whitefish School Board is looking for applicants to fill the vacancy left by the passing of trustee Pat Jarvi.

The appointed trustee will serve until the next school election in May of 2016.

Applications for appointment are available at the School District office and must be returned by 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 30.

The selection process will include an interview by the board, which are scheduled for Monday, Aug. 3. The new trustee will be selected during a special board meeting on Aug. 7.

Applicants must be registered voters in the Whitefish School District, be at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen and have resided within the school district for at least 30 days.

In addition to two regular school board meetings a month, trustees serve on various committees and study groups. For more information, contact Danelle Reisch at 862-8640.
