Love your lips: Sometimes pouting isn't such a bad thing

Not all of us were blessed with big full lips, but that doesn't matter anymore. Today it is very easy to add volume to lips, either a little or a lot. However, it is always advised to add a little at a time. I generally will not add more than one cc of volume per lip per session. I do pride myself on not taking it too far either.

While adding lip volume is very popular among the youth, it is also a reliable option for replacing lost volume. As we age, our lips become deflated and the natural shape and curvature of the Cupid's bow becomes flattened. Restylane Silk is the perfect addition to the aging lips to restore a youthful shape and fullness. It is great for combating peri-oral lines as well.

If you find that the extra lip volume is something you'd like to make permanent, you can opt for a permanent implant. That can be done through two small incisions by Dr. Mark Owsley in the office under a local anesthetic. There are three sizes to choose from: 3mm, 4mm, and 5mm width. They are made of a soft and flexible medical grade silicone, and they look and feel very natural.

Whether you are looking to add a little pout to your mouth or simply wanting to replace the volume from decades ago, there are several injectable products to choose from. Call Linda Owsley RN, BSN, at (208) 664-0165. I'd love to discuss your personal options with you.
