President Barack Obama on Tuesday called for all flags at the White House and all federal buildings, including overseas embassies, to be lowered to half-staff to pay tribute to each of the four Marines and one sailor who were killed by Chattanooga gunman Mohammad Abdulazeez.

The move came four days after the shooting rampage at a Chattanooga, Tenn., reserve center.

The White House issued the president's order after Obama finished a speech at a Veterans of Foreign Wars convention in Pittsburgh.

Dusty Rhoads, a member of American Legion Post 14 in Coeur d'Alene, said he had not heard from national leaders when the flags should return to full staff.
