District Legion baseball tourney: Twins clobber Bitterroot Bucs

POLSON — Vinnie Smith drove in five runs while Colten Parker and Tyler Murphy had four each as the Glacier Twins whipped the Bitterroot Bucs 24-10 on Friday in second-round action at the Western A District American Legion baseball tournament.
Smith went 2 for 2, Murphy was 3 for 3 and Parker finished 1 for 3.
Glacier belted 16 hits. Murphy, Tristin Steinwand and AJ Wetsch each doubled once.
Glacier opened with a 12-run first inning and piled on six more in the second.
Both teams were victors on Thursday in first-round action.

POLSON — Two three-run innings carried the Bitterroot Red Sox to a victory over the Missoula Mavs.
The Red Sox scored three times in the fourth and eighth innings to put the game ouit of reach.
Joe Johnson, 2 for 3, had four RBI for the victors.

POLSON — The Loggers kept their postseason run alive with a victory over the Kootenai Valley Rangers.
Oliver Grupenhoff had three of Libby’s 14 hits, finishing 3 for 3 with two doubles and three RBIs.
Trace Tamarro, who gave up just four hits in all seven-innings on the mound, went 3 for 5 at the plate and drove in a game-high four RBIs.
Dawson Henrie, Timmy Carvey, Sam Hanna and Brad Stein had base hits for the Rangers.

POLSON — Mission Valley Mariners scored five runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to rally by the Kalispell Lakers.
Kalispell trailed 6-3 after six innings, but scored once in the seventh and three times in the eighth and ninth for a 10-6 lead.
Bransen Krebs went 3 for 4 and drove in three runs for the Mariners. AJ Jones and Kade Schutzmann both had two hits.
Gunnar Marsh, 2 for 5, had four RBI for the Lakers.
Leadoff hitter Haydn Schlepp went 3 for 5 and Eric Seaman was 2 for 5.
Both teams had 11 hits.
