"Opera on a Summer's Eve" will take place Aug. 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center in Post Falls.

The evening of world-class opera, a fundraiser for the JACC, will feature Dawn Wolski, soprano; Christina Kowalski, spinto soprano; Christopher Pfund, tenor; Aaron St. Claire Nicholson, baritone; Mateusz Wolski, violin; and David Demand, piano accompanist.

Marlo Faulkner, a founder of Opera Coeur d'Alene, is artistic director and producer of the program in three parts: mostly Italian arias and ensembles, the final act of Puccini's "La Boheme," and a final set of opera and Broadway favorites and specialty songs. Faulkner will also act as Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening.

Dawn Wolski, who is cast as "Queen of the Night" in the upcoming Opera Coeur d'Alene production of Mozart's "Zaberflote" (The Magic Flute), brings her lilting soprano to Italian opera favorites. She will be joined by Kowalski, a regional favorite for her Opera Coeur d'Alene roles in "Gianni Schicchi," "Marriage of Figaro," "Cenerentola" and "La Boheme." Pfund, a new voice in Northwest regional opera, has sung with the Cleveland Orchestra, New York City and Santa Fe Opera companies and has recently joined the vocal faculty of the University of Idaho. Aaron St. Claire Nicholson has sung with the Metropolitan in New York directed by Julie Taymor and Placido Domingo, and at Montreal Opera. He is the artistic/executive director of Opera Coeur d'Alene.

Mateusz Wolski, international violinist and concert master for the Spokane Symphony, will not only perform violin solos, but also duets with his wife, Dawn Wolski. David Demand, piano accompanist, is artistic/executive director of the Coeur d'Alene Symphony and head of the music department at Spokane's St. George's School.

Kowalski and Pfund may be heard Monday, Aug. 3 on Verne Windam's morning radio show on KPBX (91.1) at 10 a.m.

Tickets: $40 adults, $35 students, seniors, military. For tickets and information: (208) 457-8950, www.thejacklincenter.org or art@thejacklincenter.org

Performance will be held at the JACC, 405 N. Williams St., Post Falls.
