A security manager called the Whitefish Police Department to report two intoxicated men allegedly trying to break into the bar they had been kicked out of earlier on Central Avenue. The manager said they had climbed onto the roof of a coffee shop next door and were attempting to jump onto the bar’s balcony. They were told in no uncertain terms by security they were not welcome back at the establishment.

The police took a call from a train conductor who reported that a man had snuck onto the train and hidden somewhere. The conductor recognized the man, who was a habitual fare evader. Finally the conductor found the man and wanted officers to remove him.

A Murray Avenue resident called police to report a group of drunken men walking down the street screaming and singing. When officers arrived and spoke to residents, they said it was an elderly man calling for his lost dog, which is a very confusing mistake to make.

Another Murray Avenue resident called about a large party down the street. It was undetermined if it were just a gathering of elderly men looking for their dogs or not.

A Seventh Avenue East North resident called the Columbia Falls Police Department to report that a strange teenager walked into her open house with hands over his ears not saying anything. The teen proceeded to play with the lights, go through the refrigerator and then start taking clothes off hangers in the closet while the bewildered woman spoke with officers. Officers responded and found he had non-verbal autism and promptly returned the teen back home.

A group of parents reported several items had been stolen from the city pool, and said they had followed the suspects to a gas station. The thieves were arrested and items recovered.

The Columbia Falls Fire Department responded to a dumpster fire on Ninth Street West at 4:06 p.m.

The Creston Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Montana 35 at 6:19 a.m.
