Authorities are searching for two men reported missing from the Butte Prerelease Center.

One of the men, Aaron Matt, was previously a Ronan-area resident. He was convicted in Lake County for assault with a weapon and assault on a peace officer.

He was most recently sentenced in 2011 on a parole violation.

Matt was first reported as a walk-away on Monday, as reported by the Montana Standard.

He’s 5 feet 7 inches tall, 225 pounds with black hair and tattoos.

Lake County Sheriff Don Bell said his deputies are actively looking for Matt in case he returns to the Ronan area.

On Wednesday, another inmate was reported missing from the Butte Prerelease Center. The Montana Standard first reported that Eric Matthew Cagle was the second to disappear from the center this week.

Cagle, originally a Nevada resident, is serving a sentence for partner or family member assault out of Cascade County.

He is 5 feet, 9 inches tall, 160 pounds with blonde hair and multiple tattoos.

Anyone with information on the men are asked to contact law enforcement.
