PONDERAY — No injuries were reported after a structure fire broke out at the Fiesta Bonita Mexican restaurant on Wednesday night.

The cause of the fire was not immediately clear, Northside Fire District Chief Brad Mitton said at the scene.

“We’re still trying to dig into the wall to see where the fire started,” he said.

The fire at 700 Kootenai Cutoff Road was reported at 6:51 p.m. and drew firefighters from Northside and Timberlake Fire Rescue & EMS.

Firefighters appeared to concentrate their efforts at the building’s foyer and the ceiling within it. Insulation was pulled from the space while firefighters on the roof worked on the back side of the building façade.

Additional information about the fire was not immediately available late Wednesday night.
