HOPE — The search for a Bonner County man who disappeared after reportedly jumping into Lake Pend Oreille earlier this month is resuming.

A crew from Ralston & Associates, an underwater search and recovery outfit from Kuna, arrived in Bonner County Wednesday to begin searching for Jeremy Robert Heckert, who was last seen on a vessel northwest of the Hope boat basin on the afternoon of July 10.

Cadaver-detecting dogs from Spokane and Priest Lake search-and-rescue teams picked up a scent on the rocky shoreline and in the lake on July 19, said Bonner County Sheriff Daryl Wheeler.

Gene and Sandy Ralston travel throughout North America to try and recover bodies of drowning victims.
