Traffic was blocked on U.S. 2 Friday morning near the west entrance to Glacier National Park when a load of logs was spilled during a traffic accident.
A westbound logging truck narrowly missed colliding with an eastbound minivan that pulled out in front of the truck.
The truck driver was able to swerve away from the van but the loaded pup trailer tipped over on the highway, losing its load of logs.
Another vehicle narrowly missed the spilled wood but left the scene, according to witnesses. No one was injured.
Darwon Stoneman used his front-end loader to move the logs off the highway.
Glacier National Park rangers and Coram-West Glacier Fire Department personnel directed traffic around the spill.
