COEUR d'ALENE - Art, entertainment and food are the themes today through Sunday in the Lake City.

North Idaho College will host the Art on the Green festivities, while downtown and City Park will be the locations for the Street Fair and Taste of Coeur d'Alene, respectively.

The festivities begin today at 10 a.m. for all three free events. More than 50,000 people are expected to attend.

The events have become staples of the Coeur d'Alene summer experience.

"We love the variety of food vendors - we always eat dinner, dessert and go home with treats," said Sebrina Washburn, of Post Falls.

Like many others, Washburn and her family have counted on the Art on the Green weekend as their "must do" summer event.

"We go every year," she said.

Joining in the fun of all three events is easy since they are a short walk to each location. There will also be a free shuttle for those who need a ride. The bus can be caught downtown at Third and Sherman and Fourth and Sherman. There will also be shuttle stops at City Park and Memorial Field.

Downtown streets Northwest Boulevard and Lakeside to Seventh will be closed starting at 4 a.m. today.

Art on the Green will have more than 195 art booths. Artists are from throughout the West and Canada, but others are from Alaska, Illinois, Georgia and North Carolina.

One local artist who will have a booth at Art on the Green for the first time is photographer Linda Lantzy. She is looking forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new people.

"I do shows around the state, but there's something special about doing a hometown show," Lantzy said. "Many of my clients tend to be from other areas of the state, so it's important to me to show the local community what I have to offer."

The Street Fair and Taste of Coeur d'Alene downtown will also feature food and crafts for all ages to enjoy. There will be live music at NIC and downtown throughout the weekend.

Art on the Green ends today and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., with performances continuing until 9:30 p.m., and ends Sunday at 5 p.m. Taste of Coeur d'Alene ends today and Saturday at 8:30 p.m. and Sunday at 6 p.m. The Street Fair ends today and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 5 p.m.
