Carol Josephine White Hasz, 90
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 10 years, 6 months AGO
Carol was born to Fred Logan and Ruby Mae Miles Logan on April 21, 1925, in Innisfree, Alberta, Canada, and died on May 27, 2015, at Hospice House in Coeur d'Alene following a severe stroke.
Carol grew up in Alberta, Canada, and attended Kinman Business College. On a visit from Canada to Idaho, she thought Langlois Creek was the most beautiful place she had ever seen. She married Houston L. White and later G.A. Hasz.
Carol worked as a dental assistant, clerk for the U.S. Forest Service and volunteered for the Kootenai Medical Center Auxiliary. She split her time living in Coeur d'Alene and at the confluence of Langlois Creek and Pinecreek. Carol was an avid reader, and her greatest joy in life were her children and grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death by her stepson, Jack White; sister Peg Downey; parents Fred and Ruby Logan, Houston White and G.A. Hasz. She is survived by her beloved sons, Paul White (A.J.) of Richland, Wash., and Richard White (Candace) of Coeur d'Alene; stepsons Jerry Hasz, Jim Hasz, Dale Hasz and Gale Hasz; grandchildren Trudy White Hespelt, Cory White, William "Bill" White, Kasey White, Tonia White and Angela White, as well as numerous great-grandchildren; sisters Jacqueline Marshall of Kellogg, Idaho, and June DeVito of Mercer Island, Wash., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carol was dearly loved and cherished by her family, and she will be truly missed. A kind and gracious lady, she set an example for all of us.
A memorial Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date. If you wish, memorials may be sent in her name to Hospice House through Hospice of North Idaho, 2290 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d'Alene, ID 83815.
Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene, has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements. Please visit Carol's online memorial and sign her guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
