A 60-year-old Sandpoint woman died during a three-vehicle accident on U.S. 95 in Bonner County on Tuesday.
According to Idaho State Police, Kathleen L. Ginter was driving a 1993 four-door Saturn SL northbound at 4:18 p.m. at West Elmira Road and stopping for traffic head.
The Saturn was rear-ended by a 2014 Chevy Silverado driven by Alexander C. Hjelt, 24, Post Falls. The collision pushed the Saturn into the southbound lanes where it was struck by a 2010 Mercury Marquis driven by Shaya R. Hall, 22, Moyie Springs.
The Marquis struck the Saturn on the passenger side, causing the Saturn to roll and come to rest in the ditch on the west side of the highway.
Ginter died, Hjelt was not injured and Hall was injured but not transported to a hospital. All of the drivers were wearing seatbelts.
An investigation continues.
