The Glacier Twins A squad snapped a seven-game losing streak, downing the Bitterroot Bucs in a doubleheader Sunday in Whitefish 4-1, 2-1.
The Twins lost to the Butte Miners in American Legion baseball the day before at home in a squeaker, 5-4. The Twins are now 11-8 overall.
In the opener, the Twins were down 1-0 in the top of the third but answered with four runs in the bottom of the inning. That proved to be the difference.
Vinny Smith went 2 for 3 and had an RBI for the Twins. Jayce Fagerland also drove in a run. A.J. Wetsch got the win on the mound.
In the nightcap, Jonny Sapa struck out seven, but gave up nine hits — all singles — in 5 2/3 innings. The Twins scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the fourth. Jesse Walburn and Kyler Howke each had an RBI for the Twins.
The Twins next play the Kalispell Lakers A squad at home Thursday at 7 p.m.
