Revisit CCR at the Coeur d'Alene Casino

It's not too late for some live Creedence.

Creedence Clearwater Revisited - featuring the original Creedence Clearwater Revival rhythm section - will be performing Creedence hits July 16 at the Coeur d'Alene Casino in Worley.

The backbone of the group is original CCR band members Stu Cook on bass and Doug "Cosmo" Clifford on drums, who started the band in 1995 when a friend wanted to promote a few concerts.

They didn't realize at the time that their performances would fill a large gap in the live music circuit and that they would wind up playing close to 100 shows a year in the United States, Canada and abroad.

"We never really had any intention of playing for the public," says Stu. "We got talked into it, but didn't know how it would go over."

Creedence Clearwater Revisited offers a family-friendly show, and every song performed is a classic.

Through the years, the music of Creedence has appeared in numerous films and television shows, and the songs continue to be a staple of classic rock and oldies FM radio.

"In the beginning, Cosmo and I decided that if we could find the musicians that could capture the sound and recreate what the music was about, we'd do it," recalls Stu.

Since the group's inception, the reaction to Creedence Clearwater Revisited's concerts has been driven in part by a generation of kids who, as Cosmo says, "weren't even born when the music came out." Likewise, the release of a double?live CD on Universal's Hip-O Records label - which features 22 classic hits - was the result of public demand.

"It was generated by requests of the people who came to the shows," Stu acknowledges. "Over and over they would ask, "'do you guys have a CD?'"

The band's 2015 lineup includes lead guitarist Kurt Griffey. Griffey has recorded and toured with musicians including members of the Eagles, Foreigner, the Moody Blues, Wings, Lynyrd Skynryd, Santana and Journey. The band is rounded out by lead singer/rhythm guitar player John Tristao and multi?instrumentalist Steve Gunner.
