SPOKANE - Dalton Lozier struck out seven in the first game and Jared Porter struck out 10 in the second game, leading the Prairie Cardinals to its first two wins of the year, a sweep of the Spokane Blue Devils in a nonleague play at Shadle Park High late Friday.

Gage Wark went 3 for 3 at the plate and scored two runs and Chaz Bailey had two hits for Prairie in the opener.

Matt Lebsock and Jerritt Plunkett had two hits and two runs scored and Bailey drove in three runs in the second game for Prairie (2-8), which travels to Walla Walla for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. today.

"Overall, I thought we played well in both games," Prairie coach Brian Fowler said. "Our pitchers threw good, quality strikes and allowed the defense to make plays behind them. And our offense had some timely hitting which produced runs when we needed them."

Saturday's scheduled doubleheader at home vs. the Spokane Dodgers was canceled.
