LEGION BASEBALL: Northern Lakes finishes 2-2 at tourney

MISSOULA, Mont. - The Northern Lakes Mountaineers split a couple of games at the Missoula tournament on Sunday, losing 11-1 to the Spokane Expos Red and beating the Missoula Prospects 5-4.
Cody Allen had three hits in the win over Missoula for Northern Lakes (3-5), which finished 2-2 at the tourney. On Saturday, the Mountaineers lost to the Bitterroot Red Sox 9-4 and beat Missoula 8-3.
"The team took some serious strides forward," Northern Lakes coach Pat Capone said. "It was a great trip for us. We are starting to understand what it takes mentally to succeed at this level. We still have a ways to go."
Northern Lakes plays host to the Spokane Dodgers tonight at 5 p.m. at Lakeland High.

Lums plan Little League night: The Coeur d'Alene Lumbermen are putting on a Little League night in conjunction with their doubleheader with Premier Sports Academy on Tuesday at Thorco Field, with the first game scheduled for 5 p.m.
All Little Leaguers in uniform will receive a free hot dog and soda.
