BLM's Blackwell Island season passes available at several locations
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 11 years, 2 months AGO
The early summer weather has boaters anxious to get out on Lake Coeur d'Alene and enjoy the water. The Blackwell Island recreation site managed by the Bureau of Land Management offers a popular launch site to summer boaters due to its easy access to the lake.
In an effort to help make the purchase of season passes for Blackwell Island boat launch easier, passes are now available for sale during the summer season at the BLM's Spokane District office as well as the Coeur d'Alene office. The Spokane District office is located at 1103 N. Fancher Road and is open from 7:45 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Passes will also be sold on-site from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, June 13 and Saturday, June 27.
Season passes are $40 and include the use of both the Blackwell Island Recreation Site and the Mineral Ridge Boat Launch. Daily rates at Blackwell Island are $6 per day with fee envelopes available on-site (day-use purchases are not redeemable toward the purchase of a season pass).
Checks or cash will be accepted for passes purchased on-site. Passes are also available year-round at the BLM's Coeur d'Alene District Office located at 3815 Schreiber Way in Coeur d'Alene from 7:45 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. or by calling the office at (208) 769-5000.
Proceeds from the sale of day use fees and season passes go directly back to funding maintenance and other improvements at the popular recreation site.
