Baseball: Twins drop final contest at Prairie Cardinal Tourney

POST FALLS, Idaho — The Glacier Twins wrapped up action at the Prairie Cardinal Tournament on Sunday by dropping an 8-3 decision to the Columbia Basin Bandits.
The Twins went 2-2 in American Legion baseball tournament play.
Glacier could muster just three hits in the final — singles by Jayce Fagerland and Colten Parker and a double by Vinny Smith. The Twins went down swinging 11 times.
Glacier (16-10 overall) is back in action Tuesday at the Mission Valley Mariners for a conference doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.

HELENA — The Helena Reps jumped in front early and never trailed in beating the Mission Valley Mariners in the third-place game at the Cloninger Tournament.
Helena led 7-1 after three innings and matched Mission Valley in scoring over the next 3 1/2.
Helena outhit Mission Valley 14-5.
Noah McDonald went 2 for 2 for the Mariners.
Mission Valley is back in action Tuesday hosting the Glacier Twins A for a conference doubleheader starting at 4 p.m.

It was a long afternoon for the Kalispell Lakers A squad as the visiting Bitterroot Bucs swept the conference doubleheader.
Kalispell (3-5 league) was held to three hits in the opener, an 8-2 setback, but totaled eight in the 19-8 loss in Game 2.
Brooks Krause and Jackson Pepe had two hits each in the second game. Pepe doubled twice and had four RBI. Jonas Nyman, 1 for 2, had two RBI for the Lakers.
Bo Zeiler went 4 for 5 for the Bucs in the second game and drove in seven runs.
“We’re a little banged- up,” Lakers coach Jesse McFarland said.
“We ran out of pitching toward the end, but the kids played hard.”
The Lakers continue with conference play, at the Libby Loggers A on Wednesday for a doubleheader. The first game begins at 5 p.m.
