Bigfork woman shot outside Marion bar

A Bigfork woman was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center after a man shot her in the arm with a handgun outside a bar in Marion early Sunday morning.
At approximately 2 a.m., as the Rail Line Tavern in Marion was closing for the night, the victim, several other people and an unidentified armed man began arguing in the parking lot, Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry said.
The altercation turned violent, and the man fired several shots, one of which struck the 30-year-old woman in the arm. She was transported to the hospital where she underwent surgery.
The shooter remained at large as of Sunday afternoon. His name and the caliber of the weapon used were not known, Curry said, but leads were being followed to find him. Alcohol was a factor in the shooting.
“It’s just a matter of tracking him down,” Curry said. “There were several witnesses.”
The case remains under investigation, however, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office at 406-758-5610.
