Food for any water people is the objective of The Buoy Floating Food Truck.

A 31-foot floating kitchen houseboat offers a variety of foods from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday through Sunday, at different points on Lake Coeur d'Alene. Lunch, dinners and snacks can be brought to boaters, kayakers, paddleboarders and even swimmers with lunch at the Spokane River outlet, the NIC Beach, City Beach and Independence Point and dinner at the Tubbs Hill point.

New items are added weekly to chicken sandwiches, quesadillas and tacos with fresh, local, healthy ingredients with waterproof floating packages available - certified by Panhandle Health. Delivery boats and live music will be added.

Send a text message to 875-2253, and the menu is sent to your phone. Call in your order, hang out until your name is announced and dock up to the front of the Buoy for your order.

Owners Essex Prescott, Gared Schneider and Corey Schneider have been teaching wakeboard lessons for nine years with Hayden Wake. Chef is Graham Neff.

Now for the Tidbits....

- Watch for news on The Snakepit (Enaville Resort), Harbor House in McEuen Park, Pack Rat Estate & Junk Store on Fourth Street, a sushi bar downtown and Coeur d'Alene Bike Shop on Third Street.

- Ballet Coeur d'Alene opens with classes Monday at 501 E. Lakeside. A public reception is 4-6 p.m. Wednesday.

- Use the active voice for "graduated." It's "He graduated from Stanford," not "He graduated Stanford" or "He was graduated from Stanford."

- A real headline: "Safety experts say school bus passengers should be belted."

- A ribbon-cutting and open house for the new location of Academy Mortgage in Rathdrum is 2:30-5:30 p.m. Thursday at 8052 W. Main St. Phone 712-8230.

- As I write this Friday, I enter my seventh decade. I made good choices with people (wife Mary), professions (news person and college journalism instructor) and places (Coeur d'Alene and Seattle). I was also a lucky guy with great relatives, friends and readers. Thanks, everyone.
