SANDPOINT — Leniency is being sought for a Washington state man who accidentally killed a woman in a collision on U.S. Highway 2 last year.

Christopher Dale Jewsbury is serving a 210-day jail sentence after pleading guilty to vehicular manslaughter in connection with the death of Amy Lynn Brady.

Jewsbury’s defense counsel, Susie Jensen, moved on Wednesday for her client to be released from the Bonner County Jail so he can receive medical treatment for injuries he sustained the collision. Jewsbury’s release will also allow him to keep his window and siding business afloat.

“The defendant is in danger of losing his business and all means of supporting himself, his family, and making payments ordered by the court,” Jensen said in the motion.
