LOCAL SOCCER: Talley kicks Shadow past South Sound

SPOKANE - Former North Idaho College standout Adam Talley connected on a penalty kick after being fouled in the 79th minute, lifting the Spokane Shadow past the South Sound Shock 4-3 in an Evergreen Premier League match on Saturday at Spokane Falls Community College.

Spokane (4-1-2, 14 points) took a 2-0 early on a pair of goals from Karl Muelheims on assists from Zach Hamer. Hamer scored a goal of his own in the 51st minute to give Spokane a 3-2 lead.

Brandon Madsen scored his second goal of the night for South Sound (5-1-2, 17 points), which had not lost entering play on Saturday.

The teams played to a scoreless draw in Seattle on June 6.

Spokane hosts Bellingham United on Saturday at 7 p.m.
